Friday Food - Impact of media and competition law on access to sports coverage on digital media

To kick-off this event we will give the floor to the Bike to the moon crowd who will tell you all about this team buildiging event for the researchers and interested companies.  Our mission: collectively cover the distance between earth and the moon by bike between January 1, 2012 and September 15, 2012. Amateurs as well as trained cyclists can join, no prerequisite required. This introduction will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about WeBikeToTheMoon.

And from Bike to the Moon to sports and sports coverage is only a small step: Katrien Lefever is a Senior Legal Researcher at IBBT-ICRI-KULeuven. In her dissertation Katrien analysed whether media law is still needed in the digital media environment to guarantee public’s access to live and full sports coverage and how the application of competition and media law affected by the technological changes in the media landscape. During this Friday Food session Katrien will explain her research and conclusions concerning this topic. During this Friday Food Katrien will elaborate on her dissertation but of course there will also be room for questions and debate.
