Media Mission to Berlin Brandenburg

The theme of the mission is “content meets technology” and the program will include both a track on TV production and a track on interactive interfaces (multitouch, multicamera, 3D, etc.) and the opportunities for content producers / distributors that arise through these kinds of new technologies. The mission will also include a number of high level networking opportunities and FIT will support the participants in setting up relevant one-to-one meetings as well.

Open Access in the context of network neutrality: "Is it meaningful to split Belgacom?"

This evening activity, organised by ie-net (formerly TI - Technologisch Instituut) has as subtitle "Is it meaningful to split Belgacom?"  There are 3 eminent speakers, Karel Uyttendaele, David Stevens (ICRI-IBBT) and Olivier Braet/Pieter Ballon (SMIT-IBBT), who will introduce the panel discussion around the future of our broadband networks.  Participation is free of charge, but registration is needed. For amateurs there is still another evening talk about "Optimal use of GSM in case of local calamities", on 12 December in Antwerp.

EPICS: e-learning platform for digital heritage

Both in education and in the heritage sector, there is an increasing need for ICT instruments for heritage education. The EPICS demo event will explain the general framework of the project, demonstrate the EPICS-platform and the ‘Verhalenbouwer’ (Story Builder) and present the technical innovative components developed in this project.
